This month our feature colour is one of my favourite combinations. Colour #188 is an autumn colour palette with green, blue, red and yellow. As with many of my combinations, Colour #188 resulted from experimenting!
I dyed this colour combination back in 2015 and, shortly after, ended up using it for a custom palette for my Starry Nights project. The pattern is designed by Laura Perin and is available on her website or through your local needlework shop. You can read more about Starry Nights in this blog post. While it is an “older” colour, it is just as popular today as when I introduced it eight years ago!
It is a fantastic thread choice to create a variety of colour palettes. You could quickly draw on any of the four colours, so endless opportunities.
I have previously shown a number of stitched samples showcasing Colour #188, including this cross-stitch sample. I also stitched this small needlepoint ornament several years ago, combining colour 188 with colour 191. To date, this is one of my favourite samples!
Throughout the month, we will showcase more stitched samples and hopefully inspire some additional palettes for your future needlework projects. Keep your eyes peeled for more!
