Today, I am highlighting a colourful mitten design. This one, in particular, reminds me of a box of crayons! Think big, loud and bold colours.

This colourful mitten pattern is one of the many we’ve been featuring in our 12 Months of Mittens Series. If you’re new to this blog, you can find all the previously posted mittens in the series to date under Twelve Months of Mittens in categories so make sure you check them out!

How Did We Stitch This Colourful Mitten Design

We used 18-count white mono canvas for our mittens but naturally, you may use what you wish. Our mittens measure about 2 ½ x 3 inches (approximately) – they are SMALL!

You may like to stitch them a bit larger – we will leave this up to you. All the mittens I’ll be featuring are stitched with Colour Complements threads.

Today’s mitten was stitched with diagonal points down stitch, which has been modified slightly. Susan alternated four different colours – Colour #44, Colour #187, Colour #120 and Colour #37. The overall appearance is one of a rainbow or box of crayons!

The cuff is stitched again alternating the colours with an overlaid oblong cross stitch

Another mitten is on the way for next month!
