frosty-morning

I’m thrilled to share my first PUBLISHED needlepoint mitten pattern from our 12 Months of Mittens series, Frosty Morning! We’ve been featured in publications before, but this is the first time one of our mittens has been featured.

If you have been following my blog this year, you will be familiar with my Twelve Months Of Mitten series. The series started following attending my local stitch group last fall. Susan had begun working on some mittens for Christmas gifts. You may be familiar with Susan from Dragonlady Canvaswork designs as she designed Cleopatra’s Heart, Mardi Gras and Carnival, featured in several issues of Needlepoint Now in 2021. All of the mittens we have shared on the blog to date are either Susan’s or my mittens.

As with many projects, the more mittens I stitched, the more I started experimenting with a variety of stitches, and of course, colours since my world involve lots of COLOUR!

About Our Published Mitten Needlepoint Pattern

The pattern for Frosty Morning is available in the November/December 2022 issue of Needlepoint Now. It is colourful, fun to stitch and ideal for those of you who are new to counted canvas work. It is small, measuring about 3 x 2 inches!

I have created a custom thread kit in the shop featuring the four colours used in the design. All are size 5 Perle cotton. Here is a look at the thread kit:
