red-heart-hearts-for-hospice

I am excited to share a bold red heart today!  Do you like RED?

I am particularly fond of red myself. Over the past year I’ve been sharing various hearts hopefully to inspire you to stitch one. While all the hearts have been for the Hearts for Hospice program, this particular heart celebrates the season. This would make a great gift.

This heart is stitched using Colour #187 which is a bold blend of variations of reds and orange/reds.

Dominique designed this heart using various stitches including byzantine, cashmere, rhodes and more.   She used Colour #187 in a size 5 perle cotton for the byzantine and some of the Rhodes.  Other rhodes were stitched using silk perle.  She added some Kreinik braid. There is no specific pattern, just a selection of stitches and threads.

I love how this turned out – do you?

I have photographed this with a background of both colour #187 and a gorgeous green blend, colour #184. They work very well together, especially for any Christmas themed projects.

If you are interested in learning more about the Hearts for Hospice project, visit the Greater Kansas City Needlepoint Guild website.

Next week I will once again celebrating the season with a Colourful Christmas series. I think you will want to visit!!! Ho ho ho….
