Small cross stitching – stitching small elements of a larger design!

I’ve mentioned previously that I really like patterns that are designed using different separate elements.  You will find many of these in your local needlework shop or in online shops.  With a little research you will find some freebies online too. 

This particular peacock design was a free pattern found online.  I apologize but I do not have a source to provide.  It measures 2 ½ inches and is stitched on a dyed 40 count linen in mottled blues.  One strand of floss was used for stitching in Colours #53 and #120. 

Surprisingly this is a colour combination I would not have considered myself BUT I think it looks fabulous.
