CROSS STITCH using Colour Complements embroidery floss

A great Halloween themed CROSS STITCH today using one of my new fall collection.  Since Halloween is not far off, I thought this would be a lovely example for a very small project to celebrate the season.  BOO!

Pyra has stitched this sample which measures 2 1/2 inches on 22 count Aida.  She started by hand dyeing the Aida with RIT dyes using yellow, dark green and purple using a lower immersion technique.  If you prefer not to dye your own, check out Picture This Plus and perhaps substitute with either Jazz or Masquerade.   The motif is adapted from a small area of Lila’s Studio Halloween Quaker pattern.   Patterns such as this one are great as you can select different elements to create new projects.

Colour Complements Colour #57 is a gorgeous blend of variations of rich browns.  She used one strand of floss for the basket.  The pumpkins were stitched with one strand of DMC Colour #3953.  Another BOLD option would be Colour Complements Colour #36.

You can see more examples of cross stitch on my blog HERE.

Thank you Pyra.
