red-cross-stitch

Since we are showcasing RED this month and with the anticipated arrival of cherry blossoms during the Springtime, I’m featuring this bright and beautiful cherry red cross-stitch project for today’s cross-stitch sample.

If you’ve been following my blog throughout the last year, you will have seen a number of cross-stitch samples featuring elements taken from several Ink Circles designs.  This sample is from Baroque.

Our sample is bright with colour, yet ornate and intricate at the same time – a perfect balance of soft and bold, which I absolutely love!

Here are more Details about this Cherry Red Cross-Stitch

Johanna stitched this pattern on 28-count linen and it measures approximately 3 ½ inches.  She used two strands of embroidery floss.

Colour #134 was the perfect colour to use as it is a lovely blend of cherry red with hints of pinks. I find that using one block of colour would take away from the ornate detailing of the design, so utilizing a thread that possesses a blended colour palette is a great way to enhance the depth and details.

Can you envision this colour in your Valentine’s themed projects OR perhaps Christmas?  I can!!

Thank you Johanna.
