WOOL APPLIQUEKathleen’s WOOL APPLIQUE version of Bloomin Beauties – Block #24!  You can find the pattern in Kim Schaefer’s Flower Festival book.  Kathleen has used a heavy black flannel for her background. Kathleen has used Colour Complements threads.

Kathleen has chosen to keep her leaves very simple for this block. They are bordered with a very short buttonhole and veining is created with swirls in a patterned wool without a border.

The flower is bordered with chain stitch and the inner petals are bordered with stem stitch followed by the addition of French knots. The center are a series of loopy bullions.

I hope you have enjoyed Kathleen’s Bloomin Beauties.  This is the final block.  Stay tuned as I will be sharing the entire quilt.
