Only a few more blocks to go in Kathleen’s WOOL APPLIQUE project Bloomin Beauties.
I have mentioned previously that purples and greens are some of the most popular colour combinations in my shop. Kathleen has started with a solid green wool for her leaves and embellished with elongated fly stitch – simple but effective. The flower petals are bordered with buttonhole stitches while the outer light lavender wool is bordered with a running stitch laced with purple perle cotton. The center of the flower is bordered with what looks like a coral stitch (might be Palestrina) with the addition of pistil stitches and a border of stem stitch.
Kathleen’s wool applique version of Bloomin Beauties pattern by Kim Schaefer. You can find this in Kim’s Flower Festival book. She has used a heavy black flannel for her background. Kathleen has used Colour Complements threads
The final reveal is coming very soon. Thank you Kathleen.
