It’s not quite December, but I thought it would be great to highlight this candy cane-inspired pattern in case you’d like to start stitching soon OR perhaps for next year!
Late last year, I started to notice a variety of Christmas-themed ornaments featuring stitch options mimicking the striped candy cane pattern. I started experimenting with a limited red, green and white palette and came up with my Candy Cane ornament.
How You Can Create This Candy Cane-Inspired Pattern
It is a fun ornament to stitch measuring 2 ¾ inches on 18-count mono canvas. I’ve created a thread kit including:
- Colour Complements Colour #18 (greens)
- Colour Complements Colour #184 (bright greens)
- Colour Complements Colour #187 (reds)
I also use Petite Sparkle Rays and Neon Rays which I did not include in the kit. You likely have these OR something similar in your stash that you could substitute.
A PDF pattern for Candy Cane will be emailed following the purchase of the kit. There is sufficient quantity in your thread kit to stitch more than one, AND perhaps you might like to alternate the colours in the kit to stitch a second one. I’ll leave this up to you.
I hope you enjoy Candy Cane! Thank you, Marilyn, for designing my PDF – you are awesome!
