Tahitian Treat is a beautiful fuchsia needlepoint design featured in the March/April 2021 issue of Needle Pointers. It is designed by Melita Glavin, who also created our Framed Sevens project featured in the Colour Complements Shop.

Most of you will know by now that I like to stitch small samples to showcase both my thread colours as well as designs created by many talented designers. Tahitian Treat measures about 12×12 inches on 18 count canvas but our sample today is a small section measuring about 2 ½ inches square. While we use our samples many times as gift cards for guild members, you may like to have them finished as small ornaments.

Throughout the month, we’ve been featuring Colour #84 which is a blend of fuchsia, berry red and yellow. This colour as you can see, is the highlight of the needlepoint pattern and is featured in the upper right corner of the design surrounding the blue squares.

Melita talked about combining multiple overdyed threads to achieve vibrancy and movement within the design. I think we accomplished both vibrancy and movement, don’t you? The colours used would work beautifully to stitch the entire design.

Colours We Used To Create this Fuchsia Needle Point Design

All the colours used are size 5 Perle cotton – click on the colour number, and you will be directed to the shop. Have we inspired you to start stitching?

As I mentioned above, you will find the pattern in the March/April 2021 issue of Needle Pointers published by the American Needlepoint Guild.
