Today’s golden cross-stitch design sample features colours that are reminiscent of vast wheat fields spanning the Prairie Provinces – a motif found in Garden Stars design by Ink Circles.
If you have been following my blog, you may have seen this particular pattern mentioned in other articles. The design that I’m featuring today possesses lots of the “Baroque” and classical style accents found in Garden Stars. This is one of the beautiful things I love about needlework designs – you don’t necessarily need to follow a pattern to a tee. You can simply draw from existing designs and create your own using different colour combinations.
Here’s How We Created This Golden Cross-Stitch Design
Dominique stitched this beautiful design on 32-count linen, with the overall design being 2.75 inches in size.
She used ONE colour to achieve the ombre effect of Colour #191 and stitched the pattern using two strands of floss. Colour #191 features a beautiful blend of pale, golden yellows and bronze shades.
I think this is a great staple colour as it can be used all year round regardless of the season. The colours are vibrant, and depending on your colour palette, it would be great for any seasonal inspired project. You may have seen this colour in my previous blog post on Cleopatra’s Heart.
Thank you Dominique for creating such a timeless sample!
