small-needlepoint-projects

Over the last year, I’ve shared several small needlepoint projects in the form of heart samples.

Today, I will be featuring a new design! I must admit, this is one of my favourites today likely as I am partial to turquoise/green colour schemes.

More about this small needlepoint heart project

This heart is smaller than most I share for Hearts For Hospice, measuring about 2 ½ inches on 18 count canvas. It features Colour #45 which I refer to as my peacock blend as it was inspired by the colours seen in peacock feathers – purple, aquamarine and olive green.  I used this colour as my focus colour in my Autumn Kaleidoscope project which you can find in a previous blog post.

There is no specific pattern to this small needlepoint project. It is simply made up of bands of stitches, likely all of which can be found either online or in various books.  Some of the stitches shown are plated stitch, slanted Gobelin, longarm cross, BUT really any stitches would work.

Use your imagination!

Remember, our goal in sharing these small samples is to provide you with ideas. This sample will become a card insert for gift giving. Most importantly enjoy stitching and experimenting with colour! More ideas for small needlepoint projects coming!
