I usually share larger hearts stitched for the Hearts for Hospice project but today I’d like to share a small needlepoint heart. Given that so many of us are spending more time at home these days, smaller projects provide a lot of satisfaction as they stitch up quickly. It’s always nice to have a small project to work on in between one of our larger ones. A bit of a change!
The heart today measures approximately 2 ½ inches stitched on 18 count brown canvas. It was stitched entirely from leftover lengths of various colours used in previous projects. AND, I know you all have those bits left over! There is no specific pattern so another opportunity to try any stitches you choose. This sample shows some small smryna stitches alternating with ray stitches (burgundy).
This is a ideal project for some of you who may be new to needlepoint. It is easy, fast and fun to stitch. Remember, you can find instructions for these stitches online or check out your book stash. How about stitching up a small needlepoint heart for yourself!
Enjoy!
