Just Bloomin is the last bloom in Kathleen’s WOOL APPLIQUE project. The pattern is by Australian designer Wendy Williams called “Baby Blooms Cushion” measuring 20 inches square. Kathleen has used a grey and white polka dot cotton fabric as her background and will use this as a wall hanging when complete. Check with your local quilt shop as they should be able to order the pattern for you.
Kathleen started with a gorgeous rich purple wool circle. This is bordered with Palestrina stitch. The inner turquoise circle is bordered with backstitch and embellished with picot stitches. The inner lime green center is bordered with stem stitch and embellished with French knots. I really love the colours Kathleen chose for this one.
So, this brings us to the end of the collection of blooms in our Just Bloomin project. I will be showing the completed wall hanging very soon.
