Today, I am sharing my stitch sample – Colour #45.

Colour #45 is what I refer to my peacock blend as it was inspired by the colours seen in peacock feathers.  It is a stunning blend of rich aquamarine, olive green and purple.  This particular colour combination was my focal colour for my Autumn Kaleidoscope project.  You can learn more about the project in this blog post.

The sample is stitched on 18 count mono canvas in the video using a size 5 perle cotton.  The stitch is a called a Victorian step.  I use the Stitches books by Ruth Schmuff and Kathy Holicky for my samples.  This stitch can be found in Volume 1 on page 154.  There are four volumes of these books which would be a great addition to your library.

I stitch these samples for my personal stitch library but I hope they will allow you to “see” how the colours blend and the appearance of the colour variations when stitched.

Remember, this is stitch sample Colour #45 which is available in the shop.  Hint – it is wonderful when combined with colour #46
