Today, my stitch sample is all about Colour #120.
While I stitch these samples for my personal stitch library, I hope they will allow customers to “see” how the colours blend and what they look like when stitched. My goal is to have a stitch sample video for each colour I dye – EVENTUALLY!
Colour #120 is one of my new colours in my Summer Collection. I originally introduced this colour several years ago. I discontinued it for a couple of years but have brought it back again changing the formula slightly. I like it more now. A gorgeous blend of brilliant greens, purple and blues.
In the video, I am stitching on 18 count mono canvas using a size 5 perle cotton. The stitch is called a Hungarian Grid. I suspect you will find this online but I like to use Stitches by Ruth Schmuff and Kathy Holicky. There are four volumes of these books which are a great reference. I highly recommend them.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Several years ago Canadian designer Carolyn Mitchell created a small Christmas ornament stitched using Colour #120. You can find this ornament on her website HERE.
- Yes, this is my voice
- Yup, it is me stitching
- Oh wow, do I ever need a manicure!
