When I first saw this sample, it reminded me of one of the native designs. Or perhaps the colours remind you of a southwestern theme. I have always admired the southwestern turquoise stones in necklaces and rings I’ve seen from Arizona. I remember the first time I visited Phoenix how red the earth appeared in some areas. I think the combination of rust and turquoise can be quite lovely as shown here.
What do you think? Do you like turquoise and rust?
This square measures about two inches on 18 count canvas. Once again, some simple stitches including gobelin and Smyrna.
I could also envision enlarging the design with additional borders and perhaps adding a bit more turquoise.
The following Colour Complements colours were used
Floss was added in a pale turquoise shade and a rust/brown shade.
There is no pattern for the design as Dominique made it up. It measures about 2 1/2 inches on 18 count canvas in a brown colour. Another card insert to add to the collection.
