Today’s stitch sample features Colour #53
While I stitch these samples for my personal stitch library, I hope they will allow customers to “see” how the colours blend and what they look like when stitched. My goal is to have a stitch sample video for each colour I dye – ambitious I know!
Colour #53 was originally introduced in my summer collection of new colours in 2019. A gorgeous BOLD blend of various values of blue, lime green and greens.
In the video, I am stitching on 18 count mono canvas using a size 5 perle cotton. The stitch is called a Diagonal Scotch. Most of you will be familiar with scotch stitch but if not, you will likely find this online. Otherwise, I like to use a book for reference titled “Stitches” by Ruth Schmuff and Kathy Holicky. There are four volumes of these books which are a great reference.
