WOOL APPLIQUE Another example of Kathleen’s WOOL APPLIQUE.  This is her version of Bloomin Beauties, a pattern by Kim Schaefer found in the Flower Festival book.  Kathleen has used a heavy black flannel for her background and Colour Complements threads.

Kathleen has opted to use a solid green wool for the leaves, bordered with variegated green perle cotton in bullions – can you believe how even those bullions are!? She has once again added a shape to create her veining in a swirl which is bordered in stem stich using silk perle.

The flower petals are bordered with variegated size 5 perle cotton in stem stitch.  The center is fantastic and is created using some viscose tubular ribbon which is gathered then stitched in a swirl. The yellow/red blend provides a lovely contrast with the red wool petals.

She has done it once again – thank you Kathleen!
