EMBROIDERY today and what a lovely example it is! Just love the colours.
I love to see what my customers create using my threads. One of my fellow Canadians sent this along to me recently. Judy is a member of the Canadian Embroiderers Guild Guelph and teaches various classes. This is one of five small projects she will be teaching. She has used a technique called “overtwist” around the bottom edge which she learned from Alison Cole through her video on Mary Corbet’s website, NeedlenThread. She has used my silk perle in this project. I think I just may have to give this technique a go.
So, a little more about the project. The base is wool and silk fibres that were machine felted to a basic fabric store felt base with an overlay of chiffon. I’ve used this technique myself with fantastic results. As I mentioned above, this is one of five small projects that she will be teaching in a six unit class over 12 weeks called “Tradition Meets Modern”. The course started in September at the Canadian Embroiderers Guild Guelph and is ongoing.
I sure wish I was closer to take this one! Thanks so much for sharing Judy.
