I rarely receive examples of FREE FORM EMBROIDERY from my customers so was delighted when this showed up in my inbox some time ago. Alison of Honey Beadery specializes is intuitive beaded embroidery.
She offers workshops and this is a page of a sampler book she has called “Mossy Sampler”. What a fabulous array of stitches! She has used French knots, turkey stitch, satin stitch, bullions, cast-ons, seed beads and gemstone chips. AND she has used a variety of my hand dyed flosses.
She writes she is actually creating a book of samplers. “The sampler book has three clear pockets across the page. Inside each of the pockets is a 3×3 sampler created using floss and beads. Many of the samplers are done demonstrating one stitch.” She uses a background of over-dyed wool and embellishes this with a variety of threads and beads. She has a total of 27 so far!
She has not yet decided how the pages will be sewn together and is working on a cover and binding. She plans to incorporate some of her lampwork glass beads.
Thank you for sharing this great project Alison – I can see some FREE FORM EMBROIDERY in my future 🙂
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, back on Wednesday!
