hand dyed perle cotton, alpine summer

Am thrilled to introduce this lovely Alpine Summer design.

In late September I had the pleasure of attending a three-day workshop taught by Canadian designer Carolyn Mitchell.  I received an email from her earlier in November with the most beautiful canvas work Christmas ornament she has created using Colour Complements threads. She has called this beauty of a design, “Alpine Summer“.

The name was chosen as this colour combination reminded her of the mountains and her time spent in the Yukon.  She has very graciously provided this pattern FREE for you to enjoy stitching.  I should mention it is a beginner canvas work project. Here is her pattern Alpine Summer.

How to Create this Alpine Summer Design

This design was stitched using hand-dyed size 5 Perle cotton and size 8 Perle cotton with Colour #120.  BUT you could stitch one from any colours you choose.  Lots to choose from in my shop.  To see more of Carolyn’s beautiful designs you can visit her website here.

Thank you for your generosity Carolyn – I’m off to stitch an “Alpine Summer”, perhaps you should stitch one too!
