WOOL APPLIQUE, Sue Spargo

WOOL APPLIQUE  – for those of you new to my blog, this is Uschi’s Sue Spargo Chicks project using most of my hand dyed threads.  If any of you are interested in seeing all the photos check under Categories – wool applique in my sidebar.  Remember if you click on the photo you can SEE those stitches!!!

Another lovely selection of wee chicks!  The coral pink bird wing is bordered with a fly stitch and embellished French knots and double chain. Double chain is repeated on the body using rayon and bordered with bullion stitch, also using rayon.

The center chick wing is bordered with buttonhole stitch and embellished with a buttonhole wheel and pistil stitches, all in perle cotton.  The border is a fly stitch accented with French knots. Don’t you just love those little bees in the background too?!

The blue chick wing has two rows of bullions accented with French knots.  The body is a fly stitch accented with French knots and bordered with bullions.  Tail feathers are bullions looped.

Just love how these turned out – thanks for sharing Uschi.  I have a lot more of these to show so keep an eye out for future posts.  More on Wednesday….
