This is our final sample for the month, featuring our classic red and green holiday palette. Dominique created this piece without a specific pattern, allowing for creativity and flexibility in making it your own.
It measures 3 ½ inches, stitched on 18-count mono canvas, and includes a mix of mosaic stitch, Amadeus, and eyelet corners. We added background stitching with a metallic thread to highlight the design, perfect for adding to a card for gift giving, as we often do with our samples.

The red and green palette has long been iconic for holiday stitching. It represents the festive energy of the season. The vibrant reds bring warmth and cheer, while the shades of green balance it out. Whether bold or subtle, these colours work beautifully together to create a timeless holiday feel.

Dominique frequently adds charms or gems to her stitching which she has done in the center of the Amadeus stitch.
If you’re new to stitching, the Amadeus stitch might seem intimidating at first, but it’s actually quite simple. It’s known as a “twisty stitch,” often associated with Jean Hilton’s designs. You can find plenty of charts and diagrams online—choose one with numbers to make it easier to follow.
