Sharing this bold orange contrasting colour scheme with our Embroidery Sampler Thread Kit #8. The palette features Colour #74, a very bold orange, one of the four new colours introduced in my 2021 fall collection. The combination of orange and soft blues creates the perfect contrasting colour scheme for any needlepoint project.
This was inspired by a branch of orange-toned maple leaves against a backdrop of a blue sky. The blend contains several variations of orange, and the blue is a “dusty” blue.
To date, it is one of my favourite dyed blends, which can be quite versatile. Whether you pair it with other shades of blue (as we’ve done in this thread kit), or mix it in with some neutral browns and oranges for a seasonal pattern, the kit I’ve created is a great way to simplify your choices without sacrificing creativity.
