Today, we’ll explore the use and selection of beautiful and deep autumn colours and how this colour palette can be combined to create a stunning pattern.  My goal in designing this mitten, was to capture the spirit and colours of a west coast summer/fall.  Let me introduce “Cozy Autumn”

Our autumn colour palette combines deep reds, burnt oranges and lime/moss greens offering a world of creative possibilities.  Through careful selection and arrangement, these colours can be woven into patterns that capture the essence of this enchanting season.

More About This Autumn Colour Palette Used To Create Our Mitten

In this design, I used a combination of deep reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows and a hint of lime green to create a harmonious blend of shades. This was complemented by brighter shades of orange and yellow, which you can see at the top of the mitten. A deeper blend of colours was used to create more depth and contrast so that the combination of bright and muted colours did not clash.

The mitten pattern is relatively small and measures about 2 ½ x 3 inches (approximately) on 18-count mono canvas. Our custom thread kit includes five colours in size 5 perle cotton. A PDF pattern is included with the kit, emailed following purchase.

This is the final mitten for this year. All four mittens are easy to stitch, so a beginner can tackle them. And, the thread kits include more than sufficient threads to complete the design, so you will likely be able to stitch at least part of a second mitten. An excellent opportunity to alternate colours as desired.

The only additional item you will need is 18-count mono canvas but otherwise you are ready to stitch.
