Today, we’re highlighting a variation of Flyways, by Michael Boren. You may recall a stitch sample that we featured on the blog earlier this month. This was also featured in the November/December 2001 issue of Needle Pointers. Our needlepoint sample today shows a second version of the same design BUT showcasing a completely different palette of colours.
More About Flyways by Michael Boren
Flyways by Michael Boren is a much larger design measuring 9 inches square on an 18-count canvas. Our sample is small, measuring 2 ¾ inches stitched with size 5 Perle cotton. It features a small section of the overall pattern. Dominique has selected elements of the pattern and combined them to create a pleasing sample.
What Colours Did We Use
As we mentioned previously, we used a very unconventional palette for to achieve the design shown. All can be found online on the shop!
While the above colours create the core of the palette, there are additional colours added including a pink and an orange blend. Have we inspired you to start stitching with this palette?
