aqua-cross-stitch

Today, we’re featuring a gorgeous aqua cross-stitch!

Colour 82 is the third colour I dyed in my summer collection. I always like to dye at least one what I would refer to as a “blending” colour.

This is generally a monochromatic variation of values that enhance or coordinate with the other colours I dye in the collection. In this situation, Colour 82 is a blend of not only various values but slightly different colours of aqua. You can see the subtle variations in the stitched pattern above.

How We Stitched This Aqua Cross Stitch Sample

We chose 40-count white linen for our sample and used one strand of floss in our aqua blend, Colour #82. The sample measures 3 ½ inches square. This particular design is one element of a larger cross-stitch pattern designed by 2×2 Stitch Art. Ilana has a wonderful selection of cross-stitch patterns so make sure you visit her Etsy shop.

Colour #82 would look beautiful combined with Colour #45 (peacock blend) in our collection. You could also experiment with Colours #32, #44, #46 and #186. All these combinations would look beautiful.

I’ll be sharing additional samples this month featuring all three colours in the collection. You won’t want to miss it!

As always, experiment and have fun with colour.
