Today, we’re featuring hot pink in our cross-stitch sample showcasing Colour #78. This particular colour is new and is part of the Colour Complements’ Spring Collection.
It is a bold blend of variations of PINK! Because the variations in values are more subtle, this would be a great colour to use to blend with other colours. I personally like using it with Colour #79, another new colour in the same Spring Collection.
This shade of pink reminds me of the beautiful soft carnations that I see bloom in the Spring. The pink carnations are often the ones that catch my eye whenever I see them in gardens or farmers markets. It offers the perfect balance of eye catching hues without being too “over the top.”
This is why I’m particularly happy with the outcome of this colour combination. Pink is a colour that may not be your first choice, but when you have beautiful shades as seen in Colour #78, I’m certain it has many uses for your next needlework project.
Creating This Pattern With Many Shades Of Pink
The sample is stitched on 32-count ivory linen using one strand of floss. It measures about 3 ½ inches square and could easily be made into a pin cushion, framed or perhaps as a box insert.
If you are following my blog this year, you will start to see a number of cross-stitch samples featuring elements taken from patterns by 2×2 Stitch Art. Ilana has a wonderful selection of cross-stitch patterns so make sure you visit her Etsy shop.
Finishing off our month of RED, this would look lovely combined with Colour #134.
