Winter is in full-swing here in the Westcoast, so why not feature a wintery, snowflake cross-stitch design for today’s stitch sample?
If you’re new to this page (welcome, by the way!), you may have seen various Cross-Stitch samples featured every now and then on the blog. The idea of these cross-stitch samples is to show my readers just how easy it is to create unique designs by drawing inspiration from one existing pattern.
This sample reminds me of a snowflake and is one motif found in the Garden Stars pattern by Ink Circles. While the pattern is a Spring garden theme design, Dominique managed to create a sample with a Winter theme.
How Was This Snowflake Cross-Stitch Design Was Stitched
Dominique stitched the design on 32-count linen (2.5 inches in size) using one meter of floss. It doesn’t take much to stitch an intricate pattern like this!
Colour #14 is a lovely blend of minty greens, blues, aquamarine and turquoise. I originally dyed this blend to echo the ocean on the West Coast. I think it was an excellent colour choice for this sample as it provides enough contrast to enhance the design.
Brrr! Can you envision the frost? Bundle up. Thank you Dominique.
