Well, only two more sleeps until the big day. I thought it would be appropriate to share one of my seasonal colours, one which has been featured in a couple of my recent star series. I dyed this particular colour combination several years ago. At that time it was introduced in my summer collection but it surprised me and turned out a colour combination that would prove very versatile. I refer to Colour #31 as my watermelon blend of red/pink, pink and bright green. It combines beautifully with Colour #184 (a blend of greens) creating the ideal palette for seasonal needlework projects.
The sample is stitched on 18 count mono canvas in the video in a size 5 perle cotton. The stitch is a pineapple stitch although I did skip adding a tie down in the center of each of the crosses. I use the Stitches books by Ruth Schmuff and Kathy Holicky for my samples. The pineapple stitch can be found in Volume 1 on page 230. Just a note that there are four volumes of these books which would be a great addition to your library.
I hope you are enjoying my stitch sample videos. Sadly, they are not always as clear as I would like them to be as I continue to work on my video editing skills. Hopefully they will improve.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy holiday season. I will be taking a blog break resuming regular posting in the new year. The shop remains open and I am available via email should you have any questions.
