I’ll get to discussing the cross stitched trees a little later but for now let’s talk about the Linen & Threads Mystery Sampler.  I know many of you are familiar with this SAL as each year I receive emails once the SAL starts querying colours etc.

By now you all know I don’t do cross stitch myself.  Yes, I know how but haven’t done any for years.  Having said this, I am tempted by the Linen & Threads mystery sampler as it is always a gorgeous design.

Linen & Threads is a cross stitch and needlework shop in Australia.  For several years now they have offered a Mystery Sampler, dating back to at least 2017.  I’m unsure if they offered it prior.  You will find all of the previous samplers on the Linen & Threads website.

The sampler is offered as a SAL (stitch-a-long).  Each month a new section of the overall design is provided as a free downloadable chart hence the reason it is a “mystery”.  You won’t see the full design until the end of the year!  They provide the size and fabric required then each stitcher will decide on their colour choices.

So, this brings me to my cross stitched trees above.  Don’t you love them?  The trees are a small element featured in the 2017 Linen & Threads mystery sampler.  Dominique is just too clever!  She has stitched them on 28 count linen and the sample measures about 3 inches.  She has used colours 66, 67 and 68.  This sample will be used for a card insert.

Have we inspired your colour choices for the 2021 mystery sampler? Take a look at some of the colours in the SHOP. You just may find something you like!
