Today I am sharing a sample that displays one of my most popular colours, Colour #186. It is a gorgeous blend of purple, teal and blue.
If you have been following me for some time then you will likely know this colour was created following a request from Lorene Salt. Lorene is a Canadian designer who creates gorgeous counted canvas designs. She has used Colour #186 in her Bargello Muse.
This particular sample is approximately three inches square. Once again, it is a card insert BUT it could be created into an ornament AND I could see finishing it on the diagonal as well. So, some options.
Various common stitches have been used such as Brighton variation, triple rice, double leviathan, Rhodes and reverse cushion. If you are not familiar with any of these stitches, check online or on the American Needlepoint Guild site.

A beautiful aquamarine/green floss was added which I think is a beautiful enhancement. I am sorry, it is a DMC floss but we couldn’t remember this colour number!
You will see another example of the flat ribbon available in my sampler packs. This is simply laid and couched in place. You don’t need much as this was leftover from another project.
Always a good idea to keep those scraps or bits of threads. You just never know when they may come in handy.
