NEEDLEPOINT A  NEEDLEPOINT stitch sample today in a “soft” palette. I frequently post samples that showcase bold colours so decided to show a softer palette perhaps for some inspiration.

The pattern is “Autumn Square” by Laura Perin. It is a free pattern from the Caron Collection that you can find HERE. This version measures about 2 ¾” on 18 count canvas. Originally this was stitched using Colour #196 which was a subtle blend of blues and turquoise blues. A good substitute would be Colour #28. Kreinik 1/16” ribbon was used in Colour #15 which has since sold out. You can find Kreinik ribbon in your local needlework shop – a pale green or blue/green would work OR perhaps a subtle yellow. You will need one skein of each of the following

Colour #27 – size 5 perle cotton
Colour #28 – size 5 perle cotton
Kreinik 1/16” Ribbon in blues/greens

This lovely sample was stitched by Karen who is a member of the Victoria Embroiderers’ Guild. Karen modified the pattern slightly from the original version to create a more personalized Autumn Square.  Thank you Karen!

I will be taking a short break returning to posting on Wednesday June 13th.  The shop will be closed during this time frame.
