I’ve titled this post Iris revisited because I am showing a new version of Iris. If you recall when I introduce new collections, I like to stitch several small samples to give you ideas how the threads blend and/or coordinate. I shared several versions of Iris showcasing my summer collection this year. **Check under categories – needlepoint stitch samples in the right sidebar.
Iris is designed by Diane Grant and featured in Needlepoint Now, the January/February 2020 issue. It measures about 3 inches square on 18 count canvas. I like this pattern because it is small and stitches up relatively quickly.
So, what colours were used?
- Colour #54 size 5 perle cotton
- Colour #55 size 5 perle cotton
- Colour #183 size 5 perle cotton
- Silk Perle – green
- Kreinik Braid in green
This makes a lovely colour palette for both Iris as well as perhaps a larger design. I think the addition of the pearl beads look fabulous, what do you think?
More ideas coming soon. Thank you D.
