EYE FOR COLOUR #120
Enjoy the video above!
Welcome to my Eye for Colour series. My goal with the series is to hopefully provide customers with a similar experience to selecting a colour palette and thread choices as you would do in a shop.
So, let’s get started.
Today, I am featuring Colour #120
This colour is one of four I recently introduced in my summer collection. It is a GORGEOUS blend of brilliant greens, purple and blue. I originally dyed this colour combination I think almost eight years ago. I ended up discontinuing it several years ago but have brought it back again – it is slightly different than before!
This will give you a better idea of this colour
Here are some ideas to create a palette
I started with selecting Colour #183 which is a blend of purples. I then added Floche #2 which is a rich purple and Floche #3 which is variations of greens. I added a silk perle colour #1 which is a blend of purples as well. Finally, I added Kreinik Braid #5 and #6. **You will find all these colours in my shop.
Naturally, solid colour choices would depend on what are your individual favourites AND what colour you may like to focus on in the palette.
Shop at your local needlework shop or online for the following selections.
For solid colours I chose DMC colours in size 5 perle cotton in several values of purples, 552 and 553. I added greens – 699, 700, 701, 702. Finally some blues 798 and 799.
Then some Rainbow Gallery products
- Glisten 21
- Neon Rays 124, 130
- Sparkle Rays 547
- Entice 205, 207, 235, 257
Colour #120 is proving to be a very popular colour. So, will you be doing some experimenting?
Next month is another new eye for colour!
