needlepoint-stitch-sample It is all about NEEDLEPOINT for the next several posts, in specific stitch samples. I will be focusing on Colour #186 which was originally dyed for a project designed by Canadian designer, Lorene Salt. It is a beautiful blend of teal, variations of purple and deep blue.

I have mentioned previously that I have a satellite group of members of the Victoria Embroiderers’ Guild who specialize in canvas work doing some stitching for me. This ornament was stitched by Marie and measures a little under 3” on 18 count canvas.

The pattern is from “Fun With Fibres” by Karen Dudzinski. It is a free pattern from Rainbow Gallery. You can find it HERE.

I think Marie did a wonderful job of selecting her thread choices for this project. If you would like to create this pattern you will need one skein of each of the following

Colour #33 – 6 strand floss
Colour #186 – size 5 perle cotton
Kreinik 1/16” ribbon in a purple blend
Size 5 perle cottons in variations of turquoise

Thank you Marie. Another sample on Wednesday.
