BLACK BUTTERFLIES, Crazy Quilting My BLACK BUTTERFLIES crazy quilting project continues. If you are new to this project, I work on one medium size crazy quilting project annually. This year I chose a very different colour combination in a bold primary palette. You will find all the posts pertaining to this project under “Black Butterflies” in the right sidebar under categories.

I had a lot of fun with this section. Once again, I started with a button cluster of some of my vintage button collection and added a heart charm. I embellished around this with scattered beads. I specifically placed this cluster over an area where several seams intersect as these areas can be tricky.

The seam treatment on the left started with a base of quite wide ric rac. I added Kreinik #8 braid with a bugle bead center. At the base are circular sequins with bead centers. The flowers are flower shaped beads with silk ribbon leaves. The top of these is accented with a collection of three beads and Kreinik #8 braid. More of Block #8 coming.
