Introducing RAYON RIC RAC!
I am excited to introduce NINE colours of hand dyed 1/4″ rayon ric rac to my product line.
I first used some rayon ric rac about four years ago and have been attempting to source a supplier since. Success at last. Cotton ric rac is commonly available in various widths and colours but rayon ric rac has a subtle sheen not found in the cotton which I noted immediately when stitching. It is subtle but lovely.
If you are not familiar with ric rac, it is a flat zigzag braid ribbon commonly used for embellishing. It is fantastic for use in crazy quilting, wool applique and various forms of textile art. It adds lovely embellishment in card making, scrapbooking, doll making and jewelry. You can also create small delicate ric rac roses – you will find various videos searching online showing how these are made. They take a bit of time but are a truly lovely addition to crazy quilts.
My rayon ric rac is narrow, 1/4″ so I have shown a photo below comparing it to 4mm silk ribbon.
My ric rac will be sold in meter lengths. Please note the red arrow in the photo below – you have an option of three lengths – one to three meters. A meter is approximately 1.09 yards.
