It may be spring, but I always find that it’s never too early to start stitching a festive project like our seasonal needlepoint mitten for the holidays.
If you recall, the Twelve Months Of Mittens series was introduced in 2022. Many of you were inspired to reproduce each month’s designs. So, this year, I decided to design four new mittens including PDF patterns along with the thread kits.
I know that the holidays may seem a few months away, but having this seasonal pattern and thread kit on hand lets you get a head-start on your stitching. After all, December is a busy time for everyone!
More About Our Seasonal Needlepoint Mitten
Our Candy Stripe mitten was exclusively designed for Colour Complements by the talented Marilyn Owen. This delightful pattern brings together vibrant hues of greens and reds, along with a touch of sparkle from the red rayon metallic thread.
Thread kit contents include:
- Colour 18 (greens)
- Colour 184 (spring greens)
- Colour 187 (reds)
- DMC White
- Red rayon metallic
You’ll have all of the colours but please note that to complete your project, you’ll need to grab some 18-count mono canvas.
Candy Stripe measures approximately 2 ½ x 3 inches on an 18-count mono canvas. It is a small project making it ideal for beginners dipping their toes into counted canvas needlepoint. It stitches up quickly, allowing you to stitch more than just one mitten!
