needlepoint-heart-card-insert

Last month I posted a tiny heart and today I have another needlepoint heart to share.

As I mentioned before, Dominique is stitching a variety of small samples suitable for card inserts. These are given to guild members for various life events.

Once again, this heart measures about 2 ½ inches across on 18 count canvas.  The canvas is a brown tone – the group is using up scraps of canvas from various projects which are ideal for the card inserts.

The sample has been stitched randomly in segments of stitches, very similar to crazy quilting or a patchwork quilt.  A variety of stitches have been used including eyelet, satin and oriental.

I chose this sample as it uses Colour #3 which is my focus colour for my Eye for Colour series this month.  The following Colour Complements colours were used

Have we given you some ideas for your own card insert?

Remember, these examples all use very small “bits” of threads, usually less than a couple of meters.  They are great ideas to use up left-over project threads.  If you wished you could stitch a larger version of this needlepoint heart for the Hearts for Hospice.

So, start stitching!
