Over the last year I have had a number of requests for my hand dyed Kreinik braid. SO, here it is, six new colour combinations, all variegated.

I decided to offer blends of colours in this dye lot to hopefully coordinate/complement various colour palettes.

  • Colour #1 – blues & pinks
  • Colour #2 – reds & yellows
  • Colour #3 – greens
  • Colour #4 – orange & browns
  • Colour #5 – blues & purples
  • Colour #6 – purples

If you are not familiar with Kreinik braid, it is offered in various sizes – this is size 8 which is a finer metallic.  It is similar in weight to two strands of cotton floss.  Kreinik braid is a fine round polyester metallic which is not divisible.  It provides a frosted appearance.

It is used in cross stitch, needlepoint, crochet, wool applique, embroidery and crazy quilting.  Personally, I use it a lot in both my counted canvas projects and my crazy quilting. Always fun to add a little “bling”. Great for French knots and smyrna stitches.

You would see light coverage on 18 count canvas and good coverage on 24 count congress cloth.

The company offers a great range of solids which I would recommend and use.  BUT, you know my thing is variegated!

Have fun and try some.
