Last week I posted the first of my Jewel Box Christmas ornaments.
Just in case you missed it, Jewel Box is a counted canvas pattern designed by Laura Perin. The design measures 10 inches square on 18 count canvas. The pattern is available on Laura’s website.
When I originally stitched these, I opted to stitch each of the diamonds in the pattern individually. They measure approximately 3 inches in diameter. My purpose was to showcase colour combinations that could be finished into small ornaments for gift giving. I would like to thank Marsye for her lovely finishing.
This is the second Jewel Box Christmas ornament.
While the colours in this ornament have since been discontinued, they could easily be stitched with small amounts of threads in your stash. This particular colour combination focuses on blue, green and yellow. Or, how about trying a new colour combination from the shop.
I like the idea of choosing colours that compliment your Christmas tree or home décor. The possibilities are endless.
Have I inspired you to start stitching a Jewel Box yourself?
Have fun and experiment.
