Today I am going to talk about STASH BUSTERS!

What are stash busters – read on.

Stash busters are project using up all those threads we collect.  I have no doubt YOU know what I am talking about!

If you are like me you have built up a stash of threads through the years.  You may call it a “collection” or a “stash” or really whatever term suits.  BUT we do all have these.

When I started doing hand work, I realized early on that I would need a selection of fibers offering varying textures.  I would pick up small bits of threads for embellishing with really no idea how they would be used.  I have learned through the years to be much more selective AND I purged some of my stash when I moved several years ago.

I attend a stitch group about once a month and each time I visit  I am astounded by what comes through the door for show and tell.  I LOVE show & tell – do you?  So inspiring!

Dominique showed up with the above case she had stitched using ALL Colour Complements perle cottons and floss.  These were leftover bits from projects she had stitched previously.  It is a very simple Scotch stitch repeated but the pattern is created with the placement of colours.  It measures 4 inches wide by 5 inches tall.  The back is slightly different from the front with colour choices but the Scotch stitch is repeated. There is a thread keep popping out of inside the case.  She gave this to one of the other members.

That’s it for this week.  I can’t believe it is already November although the temperatures are certainly reflecting this.  Dropped to 0 (centigrade) the other night which is cool for the west coast. So, winter is a coming……
