From time to time I receive photos from some very talented textile artists who use my hand dyed threads in rather unique ways. Imagine my delight when I received the above photograph from Angela who creates one of a kind Gossamer Tangles of colour, texture and light! Such a fun and interesting creation using my threads. I love the use of metal in this piece.
So, a little about Angela. She writes, “When I was ten my grandmother taught me to crochet and I fell in love with it. Gossamer Tangles is an outgrowth of my love of crochet and handcrafting, and my deep fascination with color and texture. I find that conceiving a design in my mind and then bringing it to life between my fingers, instills a unique mix of wonder, excitement and satisfaction. I hope you will let me make something special for you.
I create a variety of jewelry and jewelry-type accessories, as well as scarves and bags. I enjoy incorporating different types of materials into my creations. I use wire, beads, assorted types of fiber (yarn, ribbon, cord, thread, wool, fabric) sequins, buttons, clay, metal, paper, upcycled and recycled materials, and other miscellaneous items. I also use a variety of techniques — most often crochet, but also macrame, braiding, felting, sewing, and embroidery.”
Angela has used Colour Complements Colour #34 in a size 8 perle cotton for this gorgeous creation. Thank you for purchasing my threads Angela and for sharing. I look forward to seeing more in the future. You may like to visit Gossamer Tangles where you will find a variety of Angela’s beautiful creations.
