A section of Block #10 in my new CRAZY QUILTING project – Black Butterflies.
This year I chose a bold primary colour palette for my crazy quilt project. If you are interested in following this project, you can find all the posts under “Black Butterflies” in the right sidebar under Categories.
I did have rather a large stash of ribbon from my scrapbook days so started with laying a wider piece of black and white ribbon over the seam in the lower left. I stitched this in place with a wide herringbone and further embellished with silver heart brads. The floral area is a combination of silk ribbon roses, leaves, flower beads and French knots, all randomly placed. The seam at the top was layered with some hand dyed lace trim simply embellished with seed beads.
