needlepoint stitch samples, new coloursand the NEEDLEPOINT STITCH SAMPLES keep coming 🙂  This is a sample showing my new colour #186.

I was inspired by a project in the July/August 2015 issue of Needlepoint Now.  I used the central area of a lovely project “Phoenix Panel” by Diane Grant on page 11.  The center and Sprat’s Head corner’s are stitched with a size 5 perle cotton in a solid purple.  I used size 5 perle again, colour #186 for the plaited ray stitches.  This is the first time I’ve stitched a plaited ray and must admit I really like how it turned out SO I’ll be experimenting with this again.  Colour #186 is a beautiful blend of rich purple and deep to medium value blue and green teals – GORGEOUS!

I’ve only used a very small section of Phoenix Panel for my stitch sample which measures approximately 2 1/2 inches on 18 count mono canvas.  If I stitched this again, I would either paint the canvas or select a more pleasing colour BUT I went with what I had at the time.  For any of you that enjoy counted canvas projects the July/August issue of Needlepoint Now is a beauty and worth checking out.  Thank you Diane for a lovely project!

This needlepoint stitch sample came together very quickly.  I have another one to share using colour #190 on Friday too.  Yes, it is different!!!
