NEEDLEPOINT STITCH SAMPLES

I just LOVE these colours together don’t you!?  Remember, you can find all the needlepoint stitch samples in the series listed in the right sidebar.

I made this one up and it measures approximately 2 inches square.  The corners are stitched using a scotch cross which I found online.  I used size 5 perle cotton colour #166 – a gorgeous blend of red violets and purples.  The outer border is a diagonal pattern using size 5 perle cotton, colour #109.  The center are waffle stitches in size 5 perle cotton colour #166 and also colour #158.

I always find it interesting how the colour runs stitch up in these needlepoint samples.  I am never quite sure so it is a pleasant surprise and not always what I might expect.  So, are you enjoying the series?  Hope so.  More needlepoint next week along with some crazy quilting.  Have a great weekend.
