How about some needlepoint pattern inspiration!
In 2020-2021, the American Needlepoint Guild introduced “HUM” (holed-up mini) projects to ease the stay-at-home period during the pandemic (to help stitchers being “holed up” at home during the pandemic).
While the concept was to utilize stash threads, we’ve chosen to showcase two delightful samples using Colour Complements’ three-colour set today.
Our featured design, “Scarlet Stars” by Kathy Rees of Needle Delight Originals, offers a captivating needlepoint pattern. Kathy offers a great selection of patterns on her website, which no doubt many of you are familiar with. Here is the PDF pattern for Scarlet Stars.

These charming ornaments, each measuring 2 ¾ inches in diameter on 18-count mono canvas, utilize Colour #35 – a harmonious blend of brown and green, perfect for fall-themed projects. One sparkles with Colour #84 stars, while the other is created with Colour #29. We used 6 strands of floss for the stars to give it that extra pop. Naturally, we always need a bit of bling so added Kreinik #12 braid, colour 025 (blue).
These holed-up mini projects are not only quick and enjoyable to stitch but also make wonderful gifts.
